Wicked

What does wicked mean?

Very cool

Wicked is quite the confusing English word. When used normally, wicked means "evil" or "bad." However, as a slang term, wicked can also be used to mean "very cool." (Which is, y'know, basically the opposite of "evil.")

You're most likely to encounter wicked being used to mean "very cool" when talking to either a) someone British or b) a skater bro. However, this slang term actually originated in the US, as part of AAVE.

Complicating things even further is the fact that those in the Northeastern US use wicked to mean "very." For example, you might encounter Bostonians saying someone is "wicked smart" or that clam chowder is "wicked good."

Example

That was a wicked 720 he pulled in the half-pipe

Thanks bro
