LOS

What does LoS mean in online gaming?

Line of sight

Gamers use LoS to mean "line of sight." You're most likely to see this acronym used while playing first-person shooters (FPSes), in which players must establish LoS to shoot enemies. You may also see LoS used in MMORPGs and MOBAs, when players are discussing skills that require LoS to an enemy or ally.

For example, in many MMORPGs, healers must have LoS to an ally to cast a healing spell on that ally. Some abilities also require that a player maintain LoS to keep the ability active (e.g. a LoS-based debuff ability).
