Jorts

What does jorts mean?

Jean shorts

Jorts is a term that refers to jean shorts, that are also very tight shorts. It comes from the combination of "jean" and "shorts".

Jorts can be purchased or made by cutting off the legs of jeans. They were made popular by Daisy Duke, a character from the TV show "Dukes of Hazard". Jorts are often worn by Southerners in states such as Florida and Alabama. Although defined as tacky by mainstream America, sects of the Hipster culture embrace the clothing choice.
