If you see "DNI" on social media, it most likely means that the person who posted it does not want you to interact with them or their content. Savvy netizens widely regard DNI as a courtesy meant to alert others who might deem the content objectionable (often because of language, graphic depictions, etc.). For example, an influencer that shares graphic fail videos may post DNI along with the video.

People may also use DNI to alert others that they do not want to interact with others on social media. For example, they may only use the service to follow others or don't want to interact with you because they are grumpy or annoyed you hold offensive beliefs.

An acronym used similarly to DNR and AND; describes an order made by the patient to allow chest compressions and cardiac drugs but no placement of a breathing tube in the event that the person stops breathing or the person's heart stops; often made by the patient or health care power of attorney.
