When you don't want a person to leave you, send them "DLM," which stands for "Don't leave me." People typically use it online and in text messages.

DLM may come across as needy or even creepy to some, so be sure to use it with people who reciprocate similar feelings. Committed romantic partners and good friends are common cases where you might send DLM.

You might use DLM when your GF has to go to bed early, but you want her to keep messaging you. Or, your friend may be leaving the chatroom you are both in and you don't know anyone else and want them to stay.
