Those fed up with inaccurate closed captions may refer to them as craptions. This portmanteau (combining crap and captions) became popular as a result of YouTuber Rikki Poynter's #NoMoreCRAPtions campaign.
Origin of craptions
In 2015, Poynter started the #NoMoreCRAPtions campaign, which asked other YouTubers to stop using YouTube's automatically-generated (and often inaccurate) captions and supply their own instead. While the word craptions existed prior to Poynter's efforts, her campaign pushed the word to prominence.
Now, people may use the word craptions when discussing bad YouTube, Twitch, television, or movie captions. Most often, you'll see hearing-impaired social media and forum users use the word craptions, while decrying the awful captions that accompany many videos.
