In football, "brotherly love" is a play where the quarterback hikes the ball and then is shoved forward into the offensive and defensive line by teammates (usually the running back) to gain yards. The NFL team Philadelphia Eagles popularized the play in 2023 in short-yardage situations, like on the goal line or 4th down, to gain one or two yards.
