ARAM

What does ARAM mean in LoL?

All random all mid

League of Legends (LoL) players use ARAM to refer to the "All Random All Mid" game mode. In this mode, players are assigned random champions (from their pool of owned champions) and forced to fight in a single lane.

ARAM originated as a player-created variant that was played on the Summoner's Rift map. By gentleman's agreement, ARAM players fought in only Summoner's Rift's middle (mid) lane.

Now, LoL officially supports ARAMs via the Howling Abyss map, which contains only one lane. ARAMs also now use their own matchmaking queue and a unique rule set, designed to encourage fast-paced, close-quarters combat.
