AOMM

What does AOMM mean in emails and messages?

Always on my mind

People may send "AOMM" in messages and emails to tell others they are constantly thinking of them. While it may convey platonic care with no romantic strings attached, most people use it to say that they are hopelessly, head-over-heels obsessed with someone.

For example, if you have been dating someone for several months and really like them, you may text them, "Can't wait for our next date! AOMM. :)" Since it is a somewhat intense sentiment, be sure the other person at least might feel the same way, or else you may give off creeper vibes.

Origin of AOMM

While it is unclear who coined "AOMM," the "Always on My Mind" song popularized the saying. Brenda Lee first recorded it, then Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson popularized it in the 1970s and 80s. Internet and mobile users then shortened it to AOMM in the 1990s and 2000s.
